Are we working towards a Sheffield wide “unleashing” or is up to the local areas?

No city wide unleashing for now though we could have other city wide events. Local groups could do their own unleashings.

Membership of hub group

OK with the way things are at the moment.

Update on local groups

• Walkley/Crookes? We should ask them if they need any support and invite a rep to the Hub group.

• Heeley Meersbrook Last meeting down to 10 from 30. Plans include an open space event and social in a pub. Heeley Development trust want to do stuff with TS. They have 4 events coming up.

• Burngreave At a Burngreave Community Action meeting TS want to speak to show their presence. Someone else from a group has volunteered to do a workshop but may not get funding.

• Nether Edge Had a dinner for 20 people. Now has an e-mail list.

Film screenings:

• Publicity: we should get local groups involved in folding/distributing.
• We need to allow time of discussion after films. Ronin will add something to the next NE films.
• Film night facilitators: Jenny for NE. Craig and a.n.other for Meersbrook
• We can sell DVDs to raise some money. Crash Course, Population, Energy, Arithmetic.
• Showroom post Age of Stupid discussion. Jenny and hopefully Susannah will facilitate. We could also leaflet on other showings.
• Showroom will host other films for us. Steve will sort this out.

Eckington event

We will do a stall with Transition Chesterfield on 24th March Ronin & Steve will go.

We raised £13 from NE film night (most of it from the Treasurer!!)

Outreach new group proposal

This could work as flexible group, as way of involving people from outside the hub group. It could have an email list but no regular meetings (too much). But people could meet up to discuss specific things as they needed to. Any outreach work needs a way of feeding back to the hub group.

Meeting up with Grow Sheffield

We will meet up with them on Monday March 7th probably at 7.00pm. One aim, apart from making links and sharing info, would be to encourage them to affiliate to Transition Sheffield.

Transition Towns National conference

The National Conference is happening in Battersea from Friday lunchtime on the 22 May to Sunday 24 May. We should publicise event via the announcements list. We could get a minibus/car share train share?
