It was confirmed that the Hazelhurst CSA Meeting 2010-07-05 would start at 7pm informally and formally at 7:30pm and it would be at the Grapevine Centre.

Feedback from subgroups

Business

  • Alison fed back on the meeting held on 15th June 2010.
  • The land group are to produce some costings of things they require like equipment.
  • Fundraising: cash crop idea, events group, stalls at fairs, bidding for funding.
  • Issues to be discussed with Huw
  • Bank account application is waiting on the organisation to be formally constituted.
  • Advice from CMS, the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Business plan probably won't be ready by the end of July.
  • Seeking volunteers to raise plants to be planted in September was discussed.
  • FSA have asked for clarification about where the rules differ from the model ones.

Events

  • Clothes swap.
  • Non-fashion fashion show.

Land group

  • 2.5 acres of the field have been ploughed, harrowed twice and rolled, next the green manure seeds are to be scattered on Friday at 11am.
  • Email request for someone to come and film the seeding to be sent out by Heather.
  • Borehole, and wind turbine and pump could cost 20k plus the cost of the water storage tanks.
  • Security, gate to be installed.

Oral history

  • Public meeting planned for November.
  • Hazelhurst has been registered with VAS specifically to seek transcribers.
  • Stall at the Norton Show on 14th August 2010.

Public meeting

Purpose:

  • Research, consultation.
  • Seek volunteers for directors.

Publicity:

  • Meeting title: Can I take you Order?
  • Alison to draft the text of the flyer, Chris to typeset it.

Agenda

  • The big picture, how other CSA's work.
  • Membership offer.
  • What do you want in your veg box?
  • How can you help?

It was agreed that since so many people were away for the next meeting that it would have to be moved.
