  • Grow Sheffield. Make sure we've got them on our hub email list (Chris). Make sure we get their announcements as well.

  • Heeley/Meersbrook pub night at the Sheaf
  • Burngreave, fairly quiet. Recently hosted a low key food growing talk.
  • Walkley Improvised feedback - group started, recent film show , make sure their on the hub list (Susannah).
  • World Cafe - bit disappointing, not enough food, random people who wanted to know what Transition was.
  • Funding through community assemblies - Jenny said there was £50,000 available in each of the Sheffield wards for community groups and we should tap into it.
  • Voluntary, Community & Faith Environment Network is being launched on April 7th and this will go on the announcements list.
  • Transition Towns AGM. We thought it was too expensive, only Craig is going & he got his ticket paid for by the Quakers.
  • Strategic approach to the year
    1. this was such a big topic and the above took up most of the meeting we decided to dedicate the next meeting to just this. It will be held in a public space so able to have more people. We will invite Grow Sheffield and Transition Walkley.
    2. There was some debate about who should be included/invited to this. Should it be open to everyone or just the hub group & associates?
    3. From this we decided one thing we should do this year is to have a big open meeting open to anyone/everyone.
    4. We might also have another open meeting focusing on What Transition is since there seemed to be needed after the World Cafe event.
    5. The date for this Strategy for the Year is Monday April 27th, venue not yet decided.
  • Date for next regular hub meeting is 11th May (day after Film afternoon).

Not discussed much—lack of time

  1. Monday meetings - new venue?
  2. Funding through community assemblies
  3. Training.
