1, What is the hub group?
To support local groups, reps from local groups welcome to hub meetings. To develop theme groups across the city, eg energy, transport and facilitate connections between local and citywide initiatives (eg abundance, Sheffield Renewables) To develop things that can't be done only by local groups eg local currencies etc
2, Minutes from last hub meeting.
Food conference: Should include feedback from CPRE report, Sheffield food map, info from Totnes food group. Need to recruit a sub-group to co-ordinate this.
ACTION: Steve to appeal for volunteers on email list Ronin to report back to Vanessa & suggest joint 'fun event' in weekend of 3rd October. Jenny could help with conference after October.
Transition training: suggest weekends of 12th Sep, 10th Oct, 17th Oct

3, Updates from local groups
Nether Edge/Sharrow:
Had some bring and share meals & world cafe. Lots of interest in bee-keeping. Next dinner Monday 27th July. Porter Valley: Had good meeting last week & identified potential community allotment. Have set up group to raise awareness about climate change locally. David has produced leaflets & distributed 2000 door-to-door. Burngreave: Identified land between 2 schools to work on permaculture growing. Ran workshop (with creche) at BCAF meeting, (funded by federation of community development learning), & afternoon workshop on climate change. Ran stalls at environment day & abbeyfield festival – mapping people's daily journeys, quizzes for adults & kids.
Heeley/Meersbrook: Insulation meeting, CSA set up steering group. Challenge to keep community building going.
Crookes/Walkley: Have use of land for food cultivation at Hallam Gate Centre. Planned some film showings at Walkley community centre: Oct 11th, Nov 1st, Nov 29th

4, Future plans
Jenny & Ronin planning to do permaculture design course & then run permaculture workshops. Sharing local expertise – producing a list of people's skills.
5, Publicity
Ronin working on multi-purpose Transition banner. Steve has resources for Transition stall.
ACTION: Ronin to invite people to help finish banner.
Start list of recommended books on forum (eg permaculture etc)
ACTION: Jenny to start thread on forum
