Minutes from the Hub Meeting on 2nd Feb 2009

Hub Group Membership

• Hub needs to be accountable to local groups. Expect local groups to have at least one representative. Not all local groups have to come to every meeting. As the hub is supporting local groups it is important to have input from local groups as to what they need. It also has the role of doing city wide things, such as doing stuff with council.
• Hub group needs to be a stable team that gets on with tasks.
• We publicise our meetings and they will be open to anyone but we won't encourage people to use them as their main way to get involved.
• We commit to having a process that enables people to get involved in more fruitful and interesting ways.
• We should have a new group nanny: a contact for people outside areas that have existing groups to get involved. To inspire this talked about using google maps to identify where people live and see how close to each other they are.

Training

We thought about organising training eg. on permaculture, or how to set up a local transition group.
