Meeting notes 06/11/08
Present: Susannah, Steve, Chris
These notes are a bit creative as the meeting wasn't this formal! I've added question marks where I'm retrospectively assigning actions, or just not sure.
What |
Actions arising |
---|---|
What next for local groups: |
|
Meersbrook seems to be going well. They've arranged a followup meal at the Bohemian in a couple of weeks for anyone interested (?bring food/wine). |
Get info up on the website. |
Nether edge: All set for next one. Steve and Chris both have a copies of the DVD. Steve is considering running a further three set of filmnights after these. |
Chris to bring screen and DVD player. Steve to sort out a projector. Steve to discuss with Jenny? |
Burngreave: Susannah has copy of DVD (but Chris wants to borrow it.) Unless more Burngreave people are willing to commit then Susannah has no immediate plans to continue. |
|
Publicity: Still have loads of flyers to shift. Docfest and Bluemoon worth topping up. |
Susannah to take and deposit flyers. |
General follow-up ideas for this coordinating group |
|
Set up discussion forum which can be used by anyone inc. local groups |
Chris is working on this. |
Allow other people to join the coordinating group if they ask to do so. |
No action - just screen out troublemakers. |
Organise a speaker to speak in Sheffield eg. Nafeez Ahmed - he's recently spoken in London |
(Chris has contacted him, no answer yet.) |
Organise a longer event - eg. a whole a day, probably in January. This could include a speaker as described above. Consider using the Quaker space? |
Discuss again at next meeting |
Offer an evening screening/talk for Shebeen (Sheffield Black & Ethnic Minority Environment Network.) |
|
Support film-nights in other areas where there is interest eg. S11. |
|
Consider how to achieve inclusivity - both in terms of ethnic minorities and also in terms of economically marginalised groups who will suffer first. Don't just hobnob with the council! |
|
DONM: 1 Dec / 3 Dec / 4 Dec. Please say when you can make a meeting.
