Transition Ceilidh
A céilidh has been arranged for Saturday the 16th January 2010 at the Grapevine Centre, Northcote Road, Heeley, S2 3AT to start at 8pm and finish approximately 10pm.
Please download the poster (PDF) and the flyer (PDF) and print and distribute them!
Everyone is welcome including children.
Food will be available and it will be a non-alcoholic event. For those who feel like continuing to socialise then The Sheaf pub is not far away.

Community Supported Agriculture and Local Food Initiative
On 23rd April 2009 there was a well attended meeting about Community Supported Agriculture and one project that might emerge from this is a CSA scheme in the Moss Valley, see the notes from the 6th May meeting and the report of the site visit from 12th May.
The next Heeley-Meersbrook CSA Meeting is to be held on 9th July 2009 7.30pm at the Grapevine Centre, Northcote Rd, Heeley, S2 3AT. Mark Simmonds from Co-operatives UK will be coming to help us through the practicalities of setting up a formal CSA organisation.
The next Heeley-Meersbrook Local Food Initiative Meeting events are on Tuesday 7th July 7.30pm, Viewing of ‘model’ allotments by some of our expert local growers. Meet at Meersbrook Road allotment gates.
And on Monday 13th July 7.30pm, Local food initiatives meeting - growing food on underused land in Heeley/Meersbrook. Meersbrook Bowling Club, 180 Shirebrook Road, S8 9RG

Autumn Events
Transition Heeley/Meersbrook Community Supported Agriculture Project
A steering group has met several times over the summer to work on some detailed plans for this ambitious local food resource. They will be presenting their recommendations at a public meeting on Monday 12th October, 7.30pm at the Grapevine Centre on Northcote Rd, near Heeley Green Post Office.
Please download the A4 and A5 flyers for this event and print them off and pass them around.
We are planning on organising a meeting on local energy generation with Sheffield Renewables and on local production of things with someone from fablabs.org.uk.
Summer Events
Several events have been planned for the summer, please download the flyer and print it off and pass it around.
Festivals 2009
There are two festivals near Heeley / Meersbrook at which there will be Transition stalls:
- The Green Fair 2009 - Saturday 27th June 2009 from 11am to 5pm, for details see the Green Fair website.
- The Sharrow Festival 2009 - Saturday 4th July 2009 from noon until 6pm, for details see the Sharrow Festival web site.

Insulation and Energy
The critical issue of how we are going to heat our homes without fossil fuels will be looked at by the Heeley-Meersbrook Insulation and Energy group.
