Discussing Transition Sheffield's constitution

The Constitution discussion thread was used to discuss whether Transition Sheffield should have a constitution and what form it should take.

Forth draft

The fourth draft constition for Transition Sheffield has been amended in response to a statement that it makes no sense to mix consensus and voting - see comment on the forum.

It is available in two formats - .doc and .rtf.

Elements which have been amended in this version are shown in red. One bit which relates to having voting for the AGM is still shown in blue.

Third draft

The third draft constition for Transition Sheffield has been amended to reflect the fact that Transition Sheffield isn't really a membership organisation, more a network of subgroups and organisations which support its aims.

It is available in two formats - .doc and .rtf.

Elements which have been amended in this version are shown in blue. Some bits from the second draft which relate to whether to use voting as a backstop to consensus decision making are still shown in red. A minor correction was made on 10/03/2010 in response to a comment.

Second draft

The second draft constition for Transition Sheffield is based on a simple model constitution from Seeds for Change for small groups who wish to use Consensus Decision Making.

It is available in two formats - .doc and .odt.

Elements which have been amended or selected from options in the original doc are shown in red.

First draft

The first draft Constitution is based on a simple model constitution for small groups from Voluntary Action Sheffield.

It is available in two formats - .doc and .rtf.

Suggested modifications to the original doc are shown in red (additions are underlined, deletions have a line through or a note in the margin). The principles referred to are available on the Aims page.
